The Wrap is reporting Relativity has parted ways with Corin Hardy (The Hallow), who originally signed on to helm the film in 2014 after The Crow reboot lost its previous director, F. Javier Gutiérrez. As reported earlier, Relativity had planned to move forward with Hardy on board and filming to start in early 2016 that was until the studio filed for bankruptcy. A number of actors have been relatively attached to the reboot (sorry for the pun) including Jack Huston (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies) Luke Evans (Dracula Untold), Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers), and James McAvoy (X-Men: Apocalypse).
The original film is easily on my top five favorite films of all time and the ideal of a re-imagining makes me equally excited and nervous, as having been a big fan of the original graphic novel and appreciating the possible concept of what was left behind or missing in the original adaption fills my head with wonder, until I remember all the poorly executed sequels that followed.
At this point even Alex Proyas recently stating he feels a reboot is “unnecessary.” The director further said, “it would be nice if Hollywood kind of left it alone and let it remain Brandon Lee’s legacy.” And while I whole heartedly agree with the statement I am also polarized by the comments over recent years of Crow Graphic novel creator James O’barr Home » movie news and rumors » The Crow reboot in jeopardy (again) losing its director

According to ComicBook.com, O’Barr spoke at Twin Tiers Comic Con and discussed Relativity’s bankruptcy, as well as the possibility of moving the project to a new studio.
“It’s still very much a live property. The company, Pressman Films, that owns The Crow film and TV rights, licensed it to a studio named Relativity. And Relativity made like a hundred bad movies and lost money so now they’re in financial trouble. So the producers are just going to take it to another studio if Relativity can’t get backing again. It’s going to happen.”“The day Relativity announced that they were having financial problems, there were like a dozen other studios that called about getting The Crow property. It definitely will happen.
